Bob and Kathy Glass with the help of family and friends planted a small vineyard in Sleepy Hollow in 2001. After careful research and consideration of the vineyard site, we decided to plant the vines a little over 4 feet apart to increase the vines competitiveness. This combined with the weathered sand stone and steep southern exposed hillside, contribute to the richness of the fruit. This vineyard benefits from the hot long exposure of the day and the cooling from the marine influence during the night. We tend to the vineyard ourselves and friends and family help with the harvest. The crushing of the grapes, fermentation and processing of the wine is careful and slow to allow the natural character of the wine to come through. Our 2005 vintage was a mere 28 cases and the 2010 should produce some 70 cases. We will allow those who have purchased and enjoyed our efforts to reserve our wine for the next vintage.
Please feel free to call Bob or Kathy Glass at 415-454-0634 with any questions, plan a visit to our winery or to make a phone purchase.
